World Oceans Day Beach Cleanup: Doing Our Bit for the Planet

To mark World Oceans Day, our team headed to Torrey Pines Beach earlier this month for our first-ever beach cleanup, and we’re proud to say the event was a resounding success! Not only did we have a fantastic turnout, but we also made a tangible difference in our local coastal community.

A Small Effort, A Big Impact

Although Torrey Pines is often considered one of San Diego’s cleaner beaches, we were still surprised by the amount of litter we collected. From discarded wrappers and plastic bottles to stray bits of fishing line, every piece of rubbish we cleared made the shoreline just that little bit safer and more beautiful.

This just goes to show that even well-kept areas can benefit from a bit of extra care — and that each of us has a part to play in preserving our oceans.

Why It Matters

Plastic pollution and marine debris remain some of the most pressing threats to marine life. By taking the time to remove litter from the coastline, we’re not just cleaning up — we’re helping prevent that waste from entering the ocean and harming sea life.

World Oceans Day is a global reminder of the importance of protecting our blue planet, and we couldn’t be prouder to do our bit, right here in our own backyard.
