Father’s Day: Dads, We Truly Can’t Thank You Enough
On 21st June, we celebrated Father’s Day – a time to honour the unwavering love, strength, and sacrifice that dads give every single day. Whether it’s working tirelessly to provide for the family, lifting us up when we’re down, or standing behind our wildest dreams with quiet pride – fathers shape our lives in countless, often unspoken ways.
In celebration of Father’s Day, we invited you to share your heartfelt stories in our special contest, asking: Why does your dad deserve the world? The entries we received were filled with warmth, gratitude, and love. Congratulations to Wendy S., our contest winner, whose tribute to her father touched us deeply.
In honour of all the incredible fathers out there, we’re sharing excerpts from some of the standout entries that truly capture how powerful and inspiring fatherhood can be:
“He was always a father first…”
“He was a terrific influence, & I find myself saying things to my child that he used to say to me like, ‘We only get one shot at life, make it count,’ ‘Chin up, Kiddo!,’ and ‘Pick yourself up & dust yourself off.’ He has helped shape me as a woman, as a mother, & as a contributor to society…”
– Wendy S.
“He’s left an impression on the world…”
“He’s inspired me to also become involved in uplifting local youth, and has inspired my son to become an active-duty serviceman. Although my Dad was a Navy man, he’s quite proud of his Army grandson.”
– Joel C.
“My dad is my celebrity…”
“He works hard, is genuine, and shows compassion. When I look at my dad, I see the person I aspire to be. He has laid the foundation for a legacy of kindness, strength, and faith.”
– William L.
“He never asks for a thing in return…”
“My dad is the man I compare all others to. Strong, loyal, dependable, and loving. Though he didn’t arrive at my birth, he’s never left my side since he came into my life.”
– Tasha W.
“The cycle of love…”
“My husband has been a wonderful father and grandfather. From helping our daughter prepare her classroom to proudly watching his granddaughter perform – he is always present, always supportive, always Dad-Papa.”
– Bett R.
“I cherish those moments…”
“I catch glimpses of the adventurer within him. When he laughs, it fills my heart to the brim with joy. I hold onto those moments for the times when he cannot.”
– Janice S.
Whether you marked the day with a heartfelt card, a unique gift, or just some quality time under the summer sun, we hope Father’s Day served as a reminder to honour the men who give so much of themselves for the people they love.
From all of us at MOVA, thank you to the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, father-figures and mentors – for your quiet strength, your boundless support, and your unwavering love. You are seen. You are appreciated.
